The 20″ American Eagle Sirupate Khukuri (also called Kukri or Khukri by most people outside Nepal) is a combination of two famous khukuris “Traditional Sirupate” and the modern “American Eagle Special” versions. This khukuri has the blade of a traditional Sirupate khukuri and the handle of a modern American Eagle khukuri. The name Sirupate derives from the word “Siru” (a kind of grass) which has very narrow and sharp leaves. Unlike other kukris, the blade of this kukri is similar to the Siru leaves and is very narrow. The American Eagle handle on this khukuri was inspired by the Bald Eagle which is the national Symbol of the United States. This knife is famous among US Knife collectors.

The khukuri is used by all Gurkha regiments throughout the world. It is a characteristic survival blade of the Nepalese army, the Royal Gurkha Rifles of the British Army, the Gorkha regiments of the Indian army, the Singapore Police, and the Royal Brunei Guard. It can be used both as a tool and as a weapon. This is a very heavy and thick khukuri that can be used for cutting trees, tree branches, clearing bushes, cutting wood and chopping meat & bones, etc.

The 20″ American Eagle Sirupate Khukuri has a 20-inch blade that is made from highly graded 5160 carbon steel with a balanced oil quenching temper on the edge which is semi-polished and very strong. Then there is a 6-inch full tang handle made from rosewood with a steel D-guard. The D-guard helps to protect your wrist from attack by enemy blades during hand-to-hand combat or from any incoming debris. The scabbard is made of cottonwood wrapped in water buffalo leather. It comes with two small utility knives called Karda and Chakmak. Karda is a small sharp knife for cutting fruits or skinning small game animals whereas Chakmak is a blunt knife for honing/sharpening the khukuri blade or lighting fire with a flint.
